The discharge process starts right after the decision has been made by the doctor to discharge the patient during the morning ward round. It involves the following steps to be completed:
Cash Patients
Decision of Discharge
The medical team agrees on the care plan for the patient after discharge, this may include medication, investigations, referral, and the follow up date.

Complete Discharge form
The discharge form is completed by the ward medical team or managing doctor as the case may be showing the medical history and care path

Complete the Billing
The bills are reviewed and updated, final verification of insurance benefits or mode of payment is done.

Discharge Medication
Discharge medication is prepared and issued to the patient by the assigned caring nurse along with a copy of the discharge form. Payments for cash patients are made before the issuance of discharge medication, the discharge process cannot be completed until all bills are cleared.

Final Clearance
On leaving the ward the patient/attendant should present the discharge form to the security desk on the unit for final clearance.
